| Livin- a - Dream originated from a long-desired dream of Dale Childress and his aunt Cheri Childress. In 2007, Dale was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. This journey has brought with it amazing opportunities for Dale and Cheri to extend hope and inspiration to those battling with cancer and their care-givers. Dale and Cheri travel the United States to bring awareness and awaken the hope that lives in each of us.
For a couple of years Cheri and I had been searching for a platform on which to begin a speaking business. Even though we both have successful careers, our hearts have always been drawn to speaking. We just needed to find the cause that moved us. When I made the decision to go to CTCA (Cancer Treatment Center of America) in Zion, Illinois, I asked Cheri if she would accompany me. From the moment we arrived in Zion, we were certain we were on a mission from God. On the way to the hospital the first morning we saw what seemed like hundreds of geese migrating south. Cheri instantly drew the connection between ourselves and the geese. She said the geese instinctively knew to fly south seeking warmer weather. We too should seek warmth and light amidst cold and darkness. During our time in Zion, we were fortunate to meet so many amazing people.

Cheri was able to speak with numerous people in waiting rooms while I underwent exams and procedures. Each time I met up with Cheri in a waiting room she had a heartwarming story to share with me. After several days of appointments, procedures and ultimately, confirmation of the diagnosis made by my local physicians, Cheri and I decided to get out and enjoy a nice lunch. At the restaurant, a smiling young waiter named Chad approached our table. I asked Chad how he was doing and his reply was, Livin a dream! As Cheri and I were waiting at the airport to return home, she said, Dale, we need to have a name for our business before we get home. The answer suddenly came to us - We knew then and there that God had put all of this before us. We even devised an acronym for CHAD - Christian Hope and Diversity. This is what our organization is about - a place where dreams can be made and lived!
